Laredo's Business Scene

Laredo Is America's
Largest Inland Port
and Trade Gateway.

As the largest inland port in the United States and the number-one U.S.-Mexico trade crossing, Laredo processes over $234 billion in annual trade — more than any other border city. The city's economy revolves around international logistics, customs brokerage, warehousing, transportation, and the thousands of businesses that support cross-border commerce.

That trade-driven economy creates opportunity — and financial complexity. Business owners in Laredo need clean books, clear cash flow visibility, and a partner who understands the unique dynamics of an international trade city.

📍 About Laredo, TX

The City Behind the Business.

Laredo is more than a zip code — it's one of Texas's most dynamic cities. Understanding its neighborhoods, roads, history, and economy is how we serve our clients better.

History & Economic Growth

Founded in 1755 by Don Tomas Sanchez as a Spanish colonial settlement on the Rio Grande, Laredo is one of the oldest cities in Texas. The city has flown under seven flags — Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of the Rio Grande, the Republic of Texas, the Confederacy, and the United States — more than any other American city.

The 1881 arrival of the Texas-Mexican Railway connected Laredo to both the U.S. and Mexican rail networks, establishing the city as a trade gateway. NAFTA (1994) transformed Laredo from a modest border town into the busiest commercial border crossing in the Western Hemisphere, with trade volumes exploding from billions to hundreds of billions annually. The World Trade Bridge (2000) became the busiest commercial crossing, TAMIU (Texas A&M International University) grew into a regional university, and the city's customs brokerage and logistics industry became one of the most concentrated in the world.

Today that trade-driven energy continues — with more small business owners than ever, and more who need clean books to grow with confidence.
